Cabin Christmas

Christmas week at the cabin was fun. I didn't take as many photos as I wanted but here are a few to share with you all!
Val so very eager to hurry up and help Grandma make her
cinnamon rolls while the rest of us were just eager to eat
them straight out of the oven the next morning! Congrats to
Ally who ate two and a half good sized rolls in one serving!
During a small break in the rain, Grandma, Val, Riley and myself went for a walk. As you will see the kids
had the most fun jumping and running through muddy and sometimes deep puddles.
We had to practically drag them back into the cabin they were having so much fun!!!

Kids need toys? These girls spent the majority
of the time using their imaginations
despite dozen's of new toys they got for
Christmas! But I'm sure they had fun with
their new toys too.

We had a fun time playing games, eating good food, watching the kids play, watching the guys lift stuff, and we were able to get outside a little bit for some fresh air in between rain storms!
Thank you everyone for the fun stocking stuffers and the gifts from Mousers. Chuck and I just tried out the waffle maker and it's great!

Jumping into Christmas!

Christmas Eve, Chuck surprised my family by jumping out the airplane above their house and landing in their yard! My parents live just a few miles away from the Caldwell airport. Some say that it was an emergency situation where he had no other choice just in case someone more official asks you.
Anyway, we spent Christmas Eve with my family and had a BBQ in honor on Beth being home for college because she missed out on the last few BBQ burgers. We stayed over night and celebrated the next morning with our traditional sticky bun breakfast. Next stop, the cabin with the Cook family!

We visited my Grandma Rule who was staying at a rehab facility
while recovering after a bad fall, breaking 3 ribs. She's a trooper! The sad
thing was that out of several other elderly folks having to stay during their recovery
were alone and had no one visiting them. My grandma has been blessed with many children, grandchildren,
and great-grandkids who love her dearly so very rarely has she been left alone. We sang Christmas carols
and for the first time, I heard her sing with words. Growing up she would hum along to me playing
the piano but never had I heard her sing. It brought me to tears because she has played a huge role in
my life as well as in my mom and sisters. Another day and time for that story. I'm already tearing up!
Mark so graciously bbq-ing burgers
 in the frigid  cold!
Looking through old photos and
telling stories.
